Luís Fernando Resano is a retired officer of the Brazilian Navy with an extensive career in the maritime and transportation sectors. He served as Brazil’s Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), taking part in global-level debates and negotiations on navigation regulation and safety. He is a member of BIMCO’s Documentary Committee, contributing to the development and standardization of contracts and practices used internationally in maritime transport. Since July 2019, he has held the position of Executive Director of the Brazilian Cabotage Shipowners Association (ABAC), where he works directly to strengthen cabotage, engage in institutional dialogue with public authorities, and promote policies that drive coastal maritime transport in Brazil.

John Edwin Mein is the Executive Coordinator of PROCOMEX – Aliança Pró Modernização Logística do Comércio Exterior – Alliance for the Modernization of Foreign Trade Logistics: a business coalition to modernize Brazilian Customs processes. He is the former Chairperson of the Private Sector Consultative Group of the World Customs Organization.

He is an experienced public speaker and recognized for his abilties to moderate diverse groups working on challenging issues. He has published many editorials and articles, including in the World Customs Journal. In his varied professional career he has worked extensively in Trade Facilitation, Public Policy, Investment Promotion, New Business Development, Association Management, Stratefic Planning and General Management as well as on several Social Entrepeneurship projects.

Has great management capacity and conquering of clients and business as well as experience in administrating objectives with an interest in developing products, reports, organizing working procedures and quality control. Experience in business traveling to the major cities of Latin America, CUSMA countries, Asia and Europe.

Transportation and Logistics Engineer from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, with an MBA in Business Administration from FGV and international experience at the University of Arkansas, United States. Author of a scientific paper on optimizing work shifts in port terminals. Certified in Pricing by ABPricing and Live University. Has experience in Operations, Strategy, Projects, Processes, Innovation, Logistics, and Sales. Currently coordinates Commercial Planning, Market Intelligence, and Pricing at Porto Itapoá, leading commercial strategies and developing innovative data analysis tools to optimize port capacity and enhance commercial performance.

PhD candidate at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP), with extensions in Systems and Computer Engineering focused on Decision Support Systems from the Military Institute of Engineering (IME), and in Production Engineering and Military Operations Research from the Fluminense Federal University (UFF). Master’s in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Manufacturing from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), and Mechanical Engineer from Centro Universitário FEI. Certified as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt Sensei by Six Sigma Academy USA. Serves as a lecturer in the Operations and Quality MBA programs at USP/ESALQ and USP/FEA-RP. With over 30 years of experience in foreign trade, she has built a solid career in both multinational and national companies. A specialist in maritime transport, she has extensive knowledge of containerized and bulk cargo shipping. Her career spans market intelligence, commercial operations, logistics, process management, and customs risk management. She stands out for her leadership of large teams, strategic vision, and multifunctional expertise within the sector.
